I came across FreePCB
while
desparately searching for a PCB tool. I was using ExpressPCB before,
but the output of ExpressPCB contains the grid pixels also, which is
the most annoying feature. I downloaded FreePCB, and gone thru the user
manual, wow, what a tool it is!
I am a member of the
forum in its
website, and I have seen how FreePCB grew in recent times. Allan, is
one of the true programmers. I say this because he understands what a
common user wants. One example for this is the foot print editor. You
could literally create any footprint, and use or share them at ease.
One more interesting feature is, all the files are simply in ascii
format: you could open them in a text editor, and understand them
immediately!
I have created many projects and footprints using FreePCB, and
everytime it does a fine job for me. I am feeling worse that I cant
help Allan in his development work (since I dont know Windows
programming). If you ever think that anything free cant be good, change
your mind, visit
FreePCB.
